Discover 29 Latest Game Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Expansion (Including a Commander Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are arriving to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or simply another Universes Beyond marketing move? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look here at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key context. Everything mentioned here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Reveals

Before diving into the many unique products and collections on offer, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are priced at $6.99 each, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a few shell-shocking details. First, there's a new mechanic called Sneak Attack, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures as well. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (It is treated as playing a spell, as opposed to Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in upcoming expansions moving forward.

“If we ever go back to the Kamigawa plane, we might use the original ability because that's where it originated and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But in other settings, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak will be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with special art designed specifically for the expansion by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the card text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. Yet as per the developers, it’s now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from this set:

Following Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers say they took care to make sure the cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I headed the design for over a year and we were aware it would be in standard and what other sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “Our goal was to ensure that they work well with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a fun Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to create any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is changing direction with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it does come with six distinct legendary creatures who could work as your commander based on how you pair them (five of the cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Take a look below:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though that could easily go up due to demand. Sources indicated that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders pictured above. (Doing some rough math, that also means about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the deck comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the TMNT version of Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, the company is selling a collection. This one is priced at $69.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 15 Foil land cards
  • 15 Regular land cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promotional card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza delivery box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and comes with the items below:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • 1 Collector Booster
  • 25 Non-foil pizza lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Traditional foil pizza bundle promotional cards
  • Two helper cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprint of an older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. Wizards showed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six different Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This unique product is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Standard Boosters (the perfect amount four people to play draft)
  • 1 Collector Booster (aka, the prize for coming in first)
  • Ninety Non-foil basic lands (for building your draft deck)
  • Ten Regular double-sided tokens
  • One drafting guide (a single-page guide to drafting the set)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic products aimed at new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of prebuilt decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures included in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
