A national judicial panel brought charges against the New York attorney general for financial misconduct this past Thursday, according to someone with knowledge of the case.

Lindsey Halligan handled the presentation of this case before the judicial panel this Thursday, the person said.

Federal prosecutors seldom appear before such panels.

Halligan was appointed the position last month following the president expressed dissatisfaction regarding the progress of investigations involving adversaries.

The move is the president’s latest effort to weaponize federal justice authorities to penalize adversaries.

It follows 14 days after Halligan secured charges involving Comey.

Experienced attorneys prepared a memo in that case detailing why indictments were not warranted.

Comey denied the charges this past Wednesday.
