Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca stated on the final weekday that Cole Palmer is set to return for the squad's vital Premier League encounter against London rivals Arsenal.

The 23-year-old English midfielder had been sidelined due to a broken toe sustained after an accidental incident.

“He is fit to begin and feature,” Maresca commented. “Everyone is happy.”

The Merseyside club were unsuccessful in their protest against Idrissa Gueye's sending off for an on-field altercation with teammate Michael Keane during the team's 1-0 victory at Manchester United.

The player quickly said sorry, and the teammates were seen making up later in a light-hearted online video.

“We have appealed it and our appeal was turned down,” manager David Moyes said. “No explanation was provided for the rejection but we did appeal it.”

When asked about additional consequences from the incident, Moyes continued: “It was over immediately, it was done, that was it, we progressed quite quickly and it was all sorted within the dressing room.”

Meanwhile, Ola Aina (thigh injury), Douglas Luiz (thigh), Dilane Bakwa (hamstring), the striker (knee), and the defender (hip) are expected to miss out.
