Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new album, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Soccer and Family Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of several charity football games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I hurt my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it properly again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly tight, however. The Clarets are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a several observers under their manager and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.

My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at their stadium. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite tight. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six games.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
